Candy Plus is a famous candy store that decided to improve their web site and deliver their products through their ecommerce channels. They also want to use social media to do marketing of their candy products. They have about 50 products, as below:
a) Fruit candy – 20 products, 35% of the year sales (same growth per year in the next 3 years), year growth of 15%, 2018 revenue of $450,000. Fruit candies are healthy candies, mainly made with natural products and have experienced a good year growth. Some people in the company wants to focus more on this line, and reduce the effort in other products.
b) Lollypops – 10 products, 20% of total sales, year growth of 5%. Low growth is because consumers, mainly children through their parents are becoming more health conscious and are avoiding product with too many artificial products.
c) Ice-cream line – coconut, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, in a pallet format, very popular as they have moved to replace some artificial products used in their production to natural ingredients. They are the remainder of the revenue of the company, and they expect growth of 25% per year in the next 3 years.
Questions:
a) Build a Powerpoint document to explain to the company the social media strategy.
b) Build an Excel table that lists the revenues and their percentage per product line (note, you can calculate the 2018 total revenue from the first point, since $450,000 is 35% of 2018 revenue).
c) Estimate in Excel the year revenue per product category considering the flat growth per year (starting year is 2018)
d) Build a simple graph that shows the evolution of sales per product.
e) What recommendations you would make to the company management considering the data?
