write a CV, cover letter and key selection criteria as per instructions given in the documentNURBN3032 Task 1a: Graduate job application Weight: 25%
Due: Fri 1st April 2022 (Week 5)
In this task, students will be provided with a mock graduate nursing job advertisement. Students are required to create an application in preparation for a graduate nurse program. The application should have three separate parts: 1) a curriculum vitae, 2) a job application cover letter, and 3) responses to selection criteria.
This assessment is designed to assess skills in meeting the requirements for a formal graduate job application. Students are required to demonstrate their ability to apply the principles of getting job-ready as taught in the course content for NURBN3032.
This task should be treated as a real application. Lecturers will provide feedback on students ability to present themselves professionally in written documentation. Students will be assessed on how well they can write a cover letter and a Curriculum vitae, as well as respond appropriately to key selection criteria.
Students must provide the following in response to the job advertisement:
1.A Cover letter (no more than one page). This should include all required information such as the job application number, the reasons for applying for the job, and the appropriate form of address for the key contact person, and most suitable sign-off convention: yours faithfully or yours sincerely.
2.A document that responds to Key Selection Criteria (KSC) 200 words each (+/- 10%) NB: These are provided in the application process section of the mock position description. Please be aware that responding to selection criteria requires concrete clinical examples of past work or past relevant volunteer experiences as evidence that applicants can meet each stipulated criterion. The STAR technique should be used.
3.A Curriculum Vitae (CV) (no more than 3 pages). This should use the following headings in the correct order: Profile/Personal information, Education/Qualifications, Work History, Practice/Placement history, Registration, relevant memberships/licences/checks, References.
To successfully complete this task, students will need to complete the relevant course Moodle lessons and class- based activities and attend the tutorial sessions that provide further instructions on the requirements for each component of this task.
It is advised that students view a number of examples of real job applications, e.g., by friends, work colleagues or family members, before completing this task.
All documents are to be uploaded as three separate word files via the Moodle/Turnitin assessment submission link.
with the file names as follows: NURBN3032 Task 1a_[Item description]_[student ID]. For example: NURBN3032 Task 1a_CoverLetter_12345678
Please note that the mock position description (PD) is modelled on a real one. It is what a real nursing PD will look like. For this task, students need to address the Key Selection Criteria from the position description (located on the last page).
