Talent Management Proposal

Talent Management Proposal
A Brief Introduction on Talent Management Plan

A talent management plan refers to the operational and strategic maneuvers that provide a company with the ability to attract talent, fill vacancies, train, and retain employees. An effective plan will include evaluation and recommendations of several action items to provide full picture of the talent management process. We will focus on identifying the needs for recruiting sources, training and development guidelines, performance management, and retention. This plan will help the company select the right people, develop their skills, and retain future pilots at Southwest Airlines to aid as a competitive advantage to support the overall business goals.
Recruitment Sources

Electronic Recruiting
Using technology resources for e-recruiting is an option that is a lower cost measure that can be used in several ways to bring in applicants. One of the most common methods is job boards. According to Carrers, the best sites to use would be Avjobs.com and Avianation.com. These sites have monthly or yearly costs with the yearly average between 1,000-1,500. These sites are different than some of the more generic job sites like careerbuilder.com. Jsfirm.com is another site that is well known for supporting the aviation industry for the last 20 years. Their fees range upwards of 5,000 since they connect people from all over and provide an interactive platform for applicants. When an application is submitted, candidates can provide a small message to the company. We believe this ability to communicate up front provides the extra special touch that comes with the culture of Southwest Airlines.
Employee Referral Program
Southwest airlines operate with a cost leadership strategy. To continue the trend of reducing costs while recruiting quality candidates, we recommend the use of an employee referral program. This leverages our internal employees and allows them to have an influence within the Southwest family. This would allow for the expression of the company culture and create a plan that is complimentary to budgeting needs (SHRM, 2021). Employees would be incentivized with an average value of $300 per successful referral. The cost to pay out the referral upon conditions of the new hire employment is far lower than the cost associated with recruitment agencies. Referrals are an avenue of recruitment that costs less than other methods, but also provides a greater likelihood of employee retainment which is an ongoing issue in the airline industry (Thomson, 2018).
Recruitment Agencies
The cost associated with agencies is more than preferred, there are still functions that are helpful and may be needed in a short market. They are organizations assigned a duty of connecting the job seekers and employers. The recruitment agencies are not limited to one specific type of job, but jobs range from technical jobs up to jobs that are not technical (Neill & says, 2019). Many job seekers from different regions can access the recruitment agencies, enabling employers to gather a wide variety of resumes. The percentage of the resumes being selected depends on the applicants’ ability to meet the requirements; hence the candidates selected usually have skills and are very competent. It is a good recruitment source to recruit pilots. The time to fill a position in recruitment agencies depends on employers’ availability of jobs vacancies posted in these recruitment agencies. There is a particular amount of money one needs to pay that will cater to the services provided by recruitment agencies. Aviation Personnel International is a 50-year-old company that stands out as a likely candidate to use for this service.
