Essay
# 3: Multi-Media Argument
For essay # 3, you will use the techniques of argument
to persuade your reader about some topic just as you did in essay #2. However, there are two aspects of essay #3
that make it unique. First, your essay
must be focused on an issue related to your hometown or local community. Secondly, you must make use of multiple media
in your essay.
You may choose to create a PowerPoint Presentation, a
video presentation (although text will still need to be an important part of
the video), a website, an infographic, or any other form where you can
incorporate multi-media. The website Weebly
(www.weebly.com)
can be used to create a nice-looking website pretty easily. Other sites you can use include: Adobe Spark
(spark.adobe.com)
or Canva (canva.com).
Keep in mind you
are still ?writing? a researched argument; in other words, your goal remains
the same?to use appeals to logic, emotion, and character to convince your
audience that your view is sound. Use the different media to enhance the text you would write for a
more traditional essay. For example,
pictures bring about strong emotional response, so using the ?right? pictures
might indeed, make your audience respond emotionally.
