Aristotle Response Paper: (5 section paper)
These papers will be fairly formulaic in their structure. I only want 4-6 pages per response paper and they should be written using the following arrangement (dispositio):
Introduction: 3-5 sentences about the book(s)/topic (please try to fashion a topic sentence and overview of the paper
Background/Bio of the author: 3-5 sentences giving an overview about the author (who he was and why he was significant)most of these are males, thus the use of he. Please cite your sources (whether quoted from directly or not) and include the citation in your bibliography
Comprehension/Understanding: Give an overview of the 3-5 main ideas from the readings. What are these ideas? Why are they important? [This overview will be the bulk of the paper]. Cite directly from the readings we used in class and then add a Works Cited entry for each book, article, or website you used. You must cite at least 5 quotes to get a passing grade.
Analytical/ Syntopical: How does this text affect your understanding of rhetoric and/or knowing? How does this text connect to other rhetoric texts to help you understand what rhetoric is, what it does, how it affects how you know, and how you persuade others? How does this tie in to Platos Cave and knowing in an abstract way? Tie the current readings in to at least one earlier reading from the semester.
