What are its theoretical and methodological approaches
A Discussion of the book?s major arguments. Building off your first section, you will want to choose several (two or three) of the books major arguments. After summarizing the arguments, you will discuss and analyze them, one by one. Your engagement here should build off course material as well as your own knowledge of the author?s treatment of the subject matter. The goal here is to summarize, analyze, and synthesize. To that end, you will want to briefly discuss and explain what the argument is, then explain and expand on this to demonstrate its signififance. Lastly, you should be able to offer some synthesis.
A Critical Evaluation of the book. Here you may offer criticism of flaws, faults, or problems with the book (whether that be its methods, its theories, its arguments). You may also offer the significance of its findings. Essentially, you want to consider its strengths and weaknesses.
A recommendation (or not). In concluding your book review, you want to articulate what types of audiences this book might be good (or bad) for. Consider who the author?s target audience is. By articulating who may enjoy the book and who may not, you can offer whether you would recommend the book and why.
