Next week you will submit your Public Health Emergency Preparedness/Disaster Management project (this will be due on Fri., 4/8 at midnight). For this weeks discussion, I would like for you to spend some time working on this. To start, you should spend at least 1.5 hours conducting research on your topics background information, the response, and lessons learned. Then, please put together a draft (note: this does not need to be polished, I’m just looking for a status update) of your presentation. This draft can be in the form of the PowerPoint that will be submitted, or a detailed outline on a Microsoft Word document. Please note below:
Here are my expectations:
Your presentation will be either recorded or include a voice-over component. You can record using Zoom or include a voice-over directly in the PowerPoint.
Your presentation will last between 7-10 minutes.
Grading:
34%: Background information that explains how the emergency/disaster happened, including what, if any, pre-emergency/pre-disaster information is pertinent.
33%: The response that includes what was done to mitigate the emergency/disaster. Who responded and what was that response like?
33%: Lessons learned that details what, if anything, was learned from the emergency/disaster. This could include policy, protocol, preparedness, response, etc.
