Writing Prompt: Historians have been in a disagreement on the invention and origin of the number zero. Many ancient
cultures have used zero or have implied it in their number system. You are to write an argumentative essay that states your
position on which civilization invented the number/idea of zero and allowed its usage to spread around the world. In
addition, discuss if you believe there is a possibility that historians will discover other ancient civilizations who invented an
earlier usage of the number zero.
