Drawdown eco-challenge is one of the websites that explains various challenges that people save in their day-to-day activities. The website talks of these challenges and their action to settle them down. The first challenge is that most people lack electricity access. In this challenge, the drawdown Eco challenge works to take measurable actions, which aims to reduce this challenge. They work to ensure efficiency, improve systems of efficient utilization of electricity, and shift the production process to ensure that everyone has access to it and that they have an equal supply of electricity. They will ensure sufficient illumination, computers computing, and other activities dependent on electricity.
The second challenge discussed in the drawdown Eco challenge is getting hard times when seeking to get from one place to another and then back. Participants working on this challenge aim to improve the transportation sector by enhancing the electrification of vehicles, enhancing efficiency in vehicles, and shifting to alternatives that would offer the same services at a cheap rate and emission-free rate (Drawdown, n.d.). The drawdown Eco challenge will have helped humans from being stuck, playing a great role in shaping society.
The third challenge identified in the drawdown Eco challenge is the lack of energy sources. Many people do not have access to some of the necessary sources of energy, something that is crucial for the body’s functioning. Therefore, the drawdown Eco challenge participants of this sector aim at improving the access of these resources by focusing on food, land use, and agriculture. In this sector, the participants major in addressing on best ways to protect the ecosystem, shifting the agricultural practices, and addressing diets and wastes (Drawdown, n.d). The participants will restore the huge portion of land that human beings have transformed from its main purpose of growing and harvesting food.
I value more the issue of food, agriculture, and land use. The three are some of the basic resources that human beings need to survive. People who do not have these lack sources of energy. Therefore, solving the lack of energy sources will call for seeking to focus on these resources. However, some challenges are associated with solving the problem. Most of the lands have been used in building residential and industrial areas. Bringing down these places will leave many people houseless and jobless. Therefore, it is one of the challenges likely to be encountered when restoring original land for its main purpose. Another challenge that one is likely to encounter is climate change. Change in the modern climate has led to reduced crop production and productivity of livestock. Therefore, climate change prevents one from easily shaping the agricultural sector.
In conclusion, lack of electricity for most people, lack of energy sources, and hard times when seeking better ways of transportation are some of the challenges discussed in the drawdown Eco challenge website. Food, land use, and agriculture are some the interesting sectors. Land use for urbanization and industrialization and climate change are the main challenges one is likely to face when acting on these challenges.
