Case Study Scenario:
1.Violence Prevention through Education & Employment
Paper Requirement:
In a 5 page, double spaced paper, please include the following elements:
1.Describe how you think this intervention is supposed to work. What type of short term, intermediate, and long term outcomes might be expected as results? Draw a logic model (or models) that shows how it theoretically should work.
*Please note, the additional of the logic model does NOT count towards your 5-7 page narrative paper.
2.Identify who you think the various major stakeholders of this program and its evaluation would be and why. Please identify at least 3 and briefly explain why you believe they have a vested interest in the program success.
3.Design a process evaluation plan to evaluate the quality of the intervention and its implementation and program satisfaction. Consider the following:
a.What process evaluation questions would you ask and explore? Please identify at least 2 and ensure that your methods (discussed below) relate to your selected questions.
b.What type of research methods/data collection methods would you use to answer these?
i.What specific items or pieces of data would you collect?
ii.When would you collect the data? iii. How would you collect the identified data? Consider your target audience, sample strategy, etc.
*You are NOT required to create an actual data collection instrument but will be expected to discuss the type and/or method you believe will work best.
3.Design an impact evaluation plan to evaluate the effectiveness of this pilot intervention. Consider the following:
a.Which impact evaluation question/questions would you ask and focus on? Please identify at least 2 and ensure that your methods (discussed below) relate to your selected questions.
b.What type of research design(s) would you use? Why?
c.What type of research methods/data collection methods would you use?
i.What specific impact indicators would you measure? ii. How would you define and measure them? (What types of data would you collect and why)
iii.How would you collect the identified data? Consider your target audience, sample strategy, etc.

iv.How and when (one time point? Multiple time points?) would you collect these data?

You may choose to discuss each portion of your evaluation separately, or you may discuss using a different organization strategy (ie ? time, sample, method, research question, etc). You are urged to create an outline for your plans prior to writing to ensure you will not exceed the paper page limit.
