PROJECT PROPOSAL EXAMPLE
Constructing a Waste Management Plant
Overview
The growing utilization of plastics in industrial and consumer applications, combined with
increased consumer awareness surrounding solid waste recycling, has led to an increased
demand for recycled plastic resins and products. Moreover, according to the U.S.
Environmental Protection agency, municipal solid waste landfills are the second largest
source of human-related methane emissions, much more potent than carbon dioxide. When
emitted to the atmosphere, it contributes to greenhouse gas emissions.
Specific Objectives
The objective is to construct a waste management plant. This plant will capitalize on the
opportunities in the recycled resin and packaging markets through two main divisions: a
Recycling Division and a Packaging Division. The Company will create a plastic cleaning
and refining plant located in the western United States. Its initial capacity will be 46 million
pounds, and it will utilize post-consumer bottle feed stock presently collected in California,
Oregon and Washington States, which collect over 200 million pounds per year. The
Company will be vertically integrated, and use almost all of its recycled material in its
Packaging Division. Any surplus materials (clean flake) produced will be sold to outside
companies. The extruded sheet may then be sold to manufacturers, who will thermoform it
into high-visibility packaging or use it in other high value added manufacturing operations.
The strapping will be sold to companies who ship large packages or pallets, such as the
lumber milling industry. The plant would be able to recycle up to 200 pounds of waste per
year. The plant would be dedicated to converting waste plastic materials into commercially
viable products, utilizing environmentally friendly recycling and manufacturing methods.
A Landfill gas-to-Energy Division will also be set up. Landfill gas is a natural resource that
can be harnessed to generate clean energy. In addition to producing energy and reducing
greenhouse gas emissions, capturing landfill gas can reduce smog and odour and promote
environmental leadership. Landfill gas-to-energy plant emissions typically contain fewer
hazardous air pollutants than other fuels, which reduces local air pollution. The gas-to-energy
division will offset 20,000 tons of greenhouse gases per year. To start 3 engines would be
operational, and the Landfill gas-to-energy plant will initially generate about 36750 MW/Hr a
year, electricity to power 3800 homes.
Required Resources
The total cost of construction will be $8 million. These funds will be used for the purchase of
recycling line and manufacturing line, for the setup of the plant facilities and for working
capital. The plant would be built on an area of 7500 mt2.
Project Duration
The completion time period would be 25 months. Implementation Period (includes
negotiations, permitting, bidding and construction phases); 8 month Construction Period.

Title: Building a Factory for Manufacturing AI Smartphone Chips in Silicon Valley,
California
With the rising demand for smartphone devices both locally and globally, the demand for
smartphone chips has increased significantly over the past 10 years. Major smartphone makers
like Samsung, Apple, Nokia, Oppo, LG, and Huawei have increased the demand for smartphone
chips to meet the rising demand for smartphones. Although there are giant companies in the
smartphone chip-making industry, the industry is still very lucrative. Companies operating in this
industry are making billion dollars in net sales and profits. Some chip-makers are making
supernormal profits. By investing in this industry, it is projected that the company ?Chipsmart?
will register 20 percent profits in the first year of operation, 40 percent profits in the second year,
and 55 percent profits in the third year. This project will take 2 years, starting on February 20,
2022, and completed on February 19, 2024.
The objective of this project is to set up a 12-acres manufacturing plant in Silicon Valley,
California. California is the selected location for this plant because it is a ?tech hub? hosting
famous technology companies like Apple, Facebook, Chevron, and others. Silicon Valley is also
selected because it has efficient regulations, policies, and laws to protect trade secrets, business
interests, and ownership ideas. These regulations act as an important shield for small start-up
tech companies. Another objective is to manufacture AI smartphone chips with the highest
processing speed, higher durability, and larger storage space. The idea is to produce smartphone
chips with at least 10bn transistors, 5G-ready 7 nm (nanometer), and dual-core AI and APU
accelerator. To execute this project, capital resources and human labor are required. A budget of
$12,500,000 will be required for this project. This budget will be used for the acquisition of land,
human resources, licenses, equipment, and machines. To facilitate the effective operation of this
facility, 80 employees will be recruited and trained. A cloud computing infrastructure, sensors,
robots, and metals, including copper, tungsten, manganese, lithium, and cobalt, are the main
resources required.
