Over the course of American history members of Congress have proposed numerous constitutional amendments which have not been adopted. Click on the links above entitled Proposed Constitutional Amendments and Failed Constitutional Amendments. Choose one and use the Internet to find some more specific information about it. In an essay of 1-2 pages discuss why it was proposed in the first place and why it was not ratified. Does the issue it addressed remain a relevant one today? If yes, discuss whether the proposed amendment will likely be ratified in the near future. If not, explain what happened to render the issue irrelevant. Be sure to cite the sources.
