Four Sources must inclued- 1 book, 3 articles from databases.

1. Write an MLA formatted paper of 2 pages (page 3 must have at least 1 sentence) giving your viewpoint on the questions you discussed with your group. Define both the audience and the rhetorical situation for your future paper on this topic.
Questions:
Who is the general audience I want to reach?
Who is most likely to be interested in the research I am doing?
What is it about my topic that interests the general audience I have discerned?
Will each member of the broadly conceived audience agree with what I have to say?
What does my audience have to gain or lose by what I say?
b. Rhetorical Situation for your future paper (final exam paper)

What is the ethos of the situation? Does this audience find you credible and if not how will you build credibility with them? Does this audience find you trustworthy and if not how will you build trust with them?
What logos is present in the situation? How will your audience know you are not using “fake news” in your paper? What does the audience ALREADY feel to be true about your topic? Will your ideas be expected or unexpected by this audience?
What is the pathos of the situation? Will the audience have shared emotions about your topic with each other or will they disagree? Will they share emotions with your or not? How will this affect whether or not they agree with your arguments?
What is the historical and sociocultural context of your paper’s situation?
Does your exigence align/agree with that of your audience? Is this a shared exigence?
How can this audience be best persuaded by your audience? In other words, what strategies will you use to convince them (appeal to ethos, logos, pathos, emphasize importance of historical or sociocultural situation, play on their shared exigence)?

2. In THIS assignment, discuss ONLY YOUR OWN 4 sources. As you create your own audience/rhetorical situation for your paper, discuss these questions about how the audience/rhetorical situation of each source relates to your opinion or argument you will write about this topic.

a. Are your sources similar/different as far as audience/rhetorical situation from each other?

b. Which sources with your audience agree with? Which sources will your audience disagree with?

c. Does each source have ethos? If so, what is it? Does it have pathos? If so, what is it?

d. Is the historical/cultural situation in each sources similar or different to your paper?

e. What has prompted the writing of each source – the exigence?
