PART 1
1. As you complete the assigned reading (and self-checks) in the
Lesson 4 Study Plan, consider some cultural differences that might
affect our perceptions of stimuli.
2. Watch the two videos below:

Culture and Perception
3. Then, use this link to post to the Lesson 4 Discussion
Participation topic. Name the subject of your thread YourName’s
Perception Post.
4. In your post, describe two examples of how culture can influence
perception. Your examples may both be from your own experience
or you can include one from the text or videos and the other from
your own experience, but they may not both be from the
text/videos. For each of the two required examples, be sure to:
a. name and briefly describe the culture,
b. identify the stimulus/stimuli, and
c. explain how the culture in question influences the perception of
the stimulus/stimuli.
5. Your initial post should be at least 150 words*. Be sure that you
REFER to concepts included in the Lesson 4 assigned reading to
support your ideas, opinions, and thoughts. In doing so you
should paraphrase the relevant information in your own
words and provide in-text citations in APA style for the
source(s); NO QUOTES allowed. Consider these two examples:
o Psychologists who are interested in? (Lumen Learning, 2020,
Sensation and Perception, Introduction to Vision section,
para. 2-4).
o According to Lumen Learning (2020), psychologists who?
(Sensation and Perception, Taste and Smell section, para. 2).
6. Also, be sure to include a proper APA-style reference(s) for all
citations at the bottom of your post, such as:

7. After you have posted your initial response, read several of your
classmates’ messages to see your classmates’
examples. Remember to complete Part 2 of this
