When conducting a review on any business, the first thing that needs to completed is a SWOT Analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats). This analysis helps a business know where they excel at and where they need to work at, as well as, what they can take advantage of out in the environment, as well as threats they need to prepare for.

Select one of the brands and conduct a SWOT Analysis on it. Include at least 2 strengths, 2 weaknesses, 2 opportunities, and 2 threats and discuss why you labeled each as you did.
Based upon your SWOT Analysis created in the previous bullet, create and suggest two (2) strategic marketing recommendations for this business based upon your reflection/analysis and the information that you have gained throughout the course? How did you arrive at these recommendations?
RESPONSE
Taco Bell is an American fast food company that is based in California, and is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc. The restaurant essentially deals with Mexican foods primarily such include tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas and other novelty and speciality foods. The company prides itself as serving over 2 billion customers and has about seven thousand restaurants and about 80% of them are operated by independent franchisees and licensees (Miranda, 2012). Tacos strengths include the fact that Taco Bell is an incredibly popular brand name with high brand loyalty and they have also adopted a healthy trans-fat free formula which is increasing their competitive advantage over other competitors who are yet to switch to the healthier options. Weaknesses include high fat and high calorie food that is not good for health conscious people, and they also have high competition in the fast food market which means limited market share for Taco Bell. Opportunities for Taco Bell include vigorous entering into newer markets like developing countries, and adding new and authentic flavours and recipes that can be focused on health friendly ingredients. Taco Bell faces threats from other eating joints and restaurants, as well as raised awareness of the harmful products that are in the fats foods consumed by people which is a threat to their menus. My recommendations are based on the opportunities that are available for Taco Bell which is they should increase their entry into developing markets where the middle class is burgeoning, and also increase their menus to have more healthier options (Khushbu, 2015).
