History 2020 Week 10 Chapter 24

You all should have read Chapter 24, The Second World War, in America: The Essential Learning Edition.
Although this class is U.S. history, the country existed in a world with other countries. Each nation has a right to look out for itself. Some nations were taking aggressive actions, for example Italy, Germany or Japan. By the time the U.S. entered the war there was already death and destruction in Europe and Asia. The U.S. has tried to remain neutral at the beginning but was dragged into the war. When the U.S. should have been one of the easiest nations to defeat, considering it had the smallest army and navy of all the combatants, the U.S. led their side to victory in the wars. The war led the U.S. out of the economic malaise of the Great Depression and placed it at the front of the pack among the world powers, however, the U.S.S.R. was a close second and an entirely new international organization was forming. The war changed America and America changed the direction of the war.
Your question. How did the U.S. prepare and enter the war, and how did the war change the lives of those living in the United States? In your opinion, and from your readings from the book, what were the turning points in World War II?
Please make sure to consider all three parts of the question in your commentary.
