Exercise 1: Martian Volcanoes
1) For each volcano shown below, estimate the distance from the rim of the primary caldera to the
edge of the volcano using the scale bar provided on the image. The primary crater is outlined in red
and the approximate edge of the volcano is outlined in blue. The distance between them is
approximately the radius (half the diameter) of the volcano. Repeat this step so that you measure
three different lines of radius for each of the five volcanoes.
