For this portion of the assignment, please describe the role that cultures plays in the life of your IO. It should consider the state of culture, the role of management in shaping that culture, and the impact of that culture on organizational performance. Specifically, this portion of the assignment should:
Vividly describe the culture. This would include reference to language, myrthis, vision, values, heroes, stories/fairytales, rituals, metaphors, and humor. While each of these need not be described, there needs to be sufficient description to understand the organization. Additionally, you must describe ho physical space is used to foster culture (if the organization has physical space)
The paper describes how management attempts to shape culture in the organization. This includes specific strategies used to achieve a desired culture. The more specific you can be in terms of how you get this culture, the better.
Advantages and disadvantages of the culture are described with specific attention to the role the culture plays in performance. In other words, how does thus culture affect the way that people do what they do.
This section should be no less than 3 pages (no less than 1 page per question above). Review the definition of organizational culture, and if necessary, find additional information by searching “Schein” and “organizational culture”.
