Visit an arts museum, either in person or through
on-line museum portals. Choose a particular work
of art (painting, sculpture, performance, installation
or other) and write a reaction paper. Provide as
much background on the work as the museum
provides (and cite your sources) but this is not to be
a research paper. Discuss what about this particular
exhibit or piece of art appealed to you. How did the
artist use color, texture, shape or subject to create
an emotional or intellectual response in you. What
was that response?
Remember that you need to “visit” an art museum
(not natural history or sports). If you are Pittsburgh
local I highly recomment an actual visit to the
Carnegie Art Museum, the Andy Warhol, the Frick,
or the Mattress Factory (yep, there the is museum
with that name), visiting Randyland would count
too!

L-O-N-G paragraph. You need to separate your
thoughts into sections and create a multi paragraph
work that shows strong organization of your
thoughts.. Do not submit a first draft as clarity and
excellent writing is the result of editing and
reworking your paper.
